As a child, I wrote little themes on pieces of spare staff paper my musical family had laying about the house. But I didn't know that composing music was what I wanted to do with myself until I was in my mid-teens. My realization came while I was listening to Hans Zimmer's swashbuckling theme during the end credits of "Pirates of the Caribbean" at the movie theater. It dawned on me just then that writing that music had been someone's job. That's what their life was. Even between Irish and Scottish fiddle competing and seeing if I wanted to be an artist, I knew then that writing music was what I wanted to do.

I am a fond fan of chocolate, an enthusiast for old black and white movies, an avid DIY girl, and a picker-upper of various instruments such as the violin/fiddle, cello, piano, bodhran, my voice, and the erhu. My influences include but are not limited to Alt-J, Enya, Loreena McKennit, Zoe Keating, Imogen Heap, Lunasa, Agnes Obel, and a myriad of soundtrack composers including Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Brian Tyler, Harry Gregson-Williams, and Rachel Portman.

I have recently released an album of my sounds, "As the Crow Flies EP", which is now available on itunes:
